Letter from Cristina Vittoria CEO

January 2, 2025

Dear Friends,

Today we formally and publicly launch Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich’s $40 million capital campaign that has been moving along in the background and that includes milestone gifts from incredible supporters.  This campaign will support what I regard as transformative and necessary investments in our Clubhouse and Camp Simmons, in our programs, in the work of our staff and our and ultimately in our Club’s bright future.

By way of background, our Board launched a strategic planning effort in 2016, yielding a plan that has served as the road map for many big picture initiatives over recent years.  One of those initiatives has been the goal to renovate and modernize our Clubhouse and Renovate Camp Simmons to support current and future program needs.  In support of that goal, we developed a comprehensive Clubhouse master plan, led by the Club’s architectural firm KG&D architects.  That required zoning and ARC approval before it could move forward, an effort which was approved in early 2023.

After our groundbreaking ceremony in October 2023, AP Construction started demolition and our bold plans have steadily been taking shape with the goal of having all or most of this done in time for the 25-26 school year. But for all this to happen -- for all of this to be successful -- we need your help.  We need the support of and investment from our Greenwich community to make this a reality.  Now is our time and our turn to steward this beautiful Clubhouse, where our youth benefit daily from facilities and spaces made possible by the creativity and support of previous BGCG generations.  We hope you will say yes to our request to invest in both the today and tomorrow of our Club, whether through generous support of these transformational building plans, through ongoing donations to our annual fund, or through gifts to grow our endowment.

Sincerely,
Cristina
