Built in 1939, BGCG’s Clubhouse needs substantial improvements and investments to keep up with our growing membership while ensuring we remain good stewards of our resources. Our vision is bold and rooted in the unwavering belief that every child deserves a space where they can thrive. By reimagining our physical space, we aim to create an environment that reflects our young people’s energy, ambition, and spirit.
TRANSFORMATIONAL ENHANCEMENTS
Through this campaign, we will create dynamic spaces that empower, inspire, and engage. This renovation and expansion will create the foundation for the next 100 years. Our project includes:
• Doubling of our learning spaces
• Adding a regulation size gymnasium, dance, and fitness space
• Adding a Teen Center and Club Café
• Upgrading our outdoor turf field and adding an amphitheater
• Updating electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems with increased energy efficiency
• Increasing safety and security throughout the building

KG&D Architects was chosen in late 2021 to design the new Clubhouse. Design Principal Erik A. Kaeyer and Principal Sarah Dirsa have done an excellent job listening to our stakeholders — staff, kids, and leadership alike. In addition to helping address systems that desperately needed modernization, KG&D designed a thoughtful layout with new spaces that include a doubled academic floor and new multi-sport gymnasium.
Our construction manager, A.P. Construction (APC), based in Stamford, manages the Clubhouse project every step of the way from beginning to turnover, collaborating with the architect, owner’s rep and Club staff to ensure the design team’s vision is fulfilled.
APC has managed more than 150 projects in Greenwich over its 43-year history, including projects at Greenwich Academy and The Brunswick School. The company also worked on area facilities including Chelsea Piers Connecticut, the Maritime Aquarium, and many others.
BGCG’s Owner’s Representative provides general oversight and guidance, which is important to our project’s success. Richard Browne of Sterling Project Development (SPD) and Nancy Risman, former Board member and Advisory Board member, have taken on this project as the Club’s pro bono Owner’s Representatives. This duo have years of experience leading complex construction projects, and we are incredibly thankful to have their combined expertise and time on this project.
