Ways of Giving

Gifts of Cash
Gifts of cash are the easiest and most direct way to give to BGCG and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. The gifts can be fulfilled over a multi-year period (up to five years) following a payment schedule determined by the donor. Gifts of cash can be made online, wired, by sending a check, or by contacting Emily Wakeling.

Gifts of Securities
Marketable securities can be an attractive asset to contribute to BGCG. The donor who gives appreciated stock will usually avoid the capital gains tax on the stock’s appreciation and will receive a charitable deduction based on the market value on the date the stock is received by BGCG. Appreciated gifts of stock must be held for more than 12 months to qualify for long-term capital gains.

IRA Charitable Roll Over
Individuals 72½ years old or older with an IRA account can take advantage of a simple way to benefit the Club and receive tax benefits in return. Donors can give up to $100,000/year from their IRA directly without having to pay income taxes on the distribution.

Named Endowment Gifts
By creating an endowment, donors provide a gift in perpetuity that grows over time. Endowments can provide a naming opportunity. They create a legacy while addressing vital BGCG needs such as hospital growth and new equipment.

Planned Giving
By including BGCG in their estate plans, donors may create a legacy that will ensure BGCG’S place as a leader in creating great futures for generations to come. Some examples of planned giving instruments include:

-Bequests
- Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), IRAs, and retirement plans
- Life insurance policies
- Commercial annuities

One should consult one’s financial planner to determine the best course of action when considering making a planned gift.

Matching Gifts
Many companies offer a matching gift program for their employees and retirees who make charitable contributions to BGCG.  Some gifts can be doubled or even tripled. A donor should check with one’s Human Resources Department to inquire about its matching gift policy.

Multi-Year Pledge
Please contact Emily Wakeling at 203-253-0384 if you would like to make a multi-year campaign pledge.

With your committed support, The Future Starts Now.
