Andrea Alarcon

Andrea Alarcon

Andrea is a passionate bi-lingual professional with experience in non-profit operations. Prior to joining the team, Andrea was the Operations and Community Development Associate at Neighbors Link, a NY-based non-profit that strengthens the whole community through the healthy integration of immigrants by offering education and empowerment programs, and creating substantive partnerships with other local organizations. She also worked with EatLocal NY, a non-profit that addresses food inequity in Westchester county, NY. Andrea ran several community teaching gardens for underserved communities, empowering children and parents to sustainably grow their own food.

Throughout her professional career, Andrea has translated curriculum for the Bedford Central School District, translated for local immigration lawyers, and has tutored bi-lingual students K-8th grade. She currently volunteers for the Healthy Yards Advisory Group in Bedford, NY as a bi-lingual educator on environmental laws and regulations. She graduated with her BA in Communications from the State University at Albany, NY. Andrea also holds the distinction of being named the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester’s 2010 Youth of the year.
