Pool Coordinator
Reporting to Camp Director & Assistant Camp Director, the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich is looking to hire a Pool Coordinator for their outdoor summer camp program, Camp Simmons. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, high supervision of pool and pool deck, take chemical readings throughout the day, teach swim lessons, supervise free swim, and make sure all pool safety equipment is maintained and working properly. Must enjoy working with children in a fun outdoor environment.
*Must be American Red Cross certified in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid and AED
Camp Dates: June 23 – August 15 (8 weeks)
Camp Simmons: 77 acres of outdoor camp activities
Location: 744 Lake Avenue
Work hours 9:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 an hour
Camper ages: 6-12
Responsibilities:
• Supervise safety around the pool area and in the locker rooms during all swim periods
• Teach swim lessons and lifesaving skills
• Enforce all safety rules in the water and on the pool deck
• Be a positive role model for the other lifeguards and campers
• Make sure to lock pool gate when not in the area
• Maintain the cleanliness of the pool water, deck, and locker rooms
• Promptly report all breakages and shortages
• Have fun! Aquatic games and contests daily
• Handle the curveballs. No two days are the same at Camp Simmons, and every member of our team will see unanticipated challenges come their way.
