AQUATICS

BGCG Aquatics Programs

There’s something for every swimmer at Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich.

Our Aquatics program provides opportunities for swimmers of all ages and abilities. From children learning water safety and foundational skills to competitive swimmers, active adults and families enjoying time together in the pool, there’s something for everyone.

The BGCG pool is a six-lane, 25-meter facility that is home to swim instruction, our Barracudas competitive swim teams, recreational swimming, certification courses and other aquatic programs.

In addition to programs for BGCG members, select Aquatics programs are open to the broader community.

After-School Aquatics Academy

Building confident, capable swimmers through our after-school program.

The BGCG After-School Aquatics Academy gives Club members the opportunity to develop swimming skills as part of their regular after-school experience.

During scheduled swim periods, youth receive instruction and skill development appropriate to their swimming ability. Our Aquatics staff focuses on water safety, confidence, proper technique and progression, helping each swimmer build a strong foundation in the water.

The Academy is designed to meet swimmers where they are, whether they are just becoming comfortable in the water or are ready to strengthen their strokes and advance their skills.

After-School Aquatics Academy is offered to youth during regular BGCG after-school program hours.

Private Swim Lessons

Personalized instruction. Individual goals. More confidence in the water.

Open to the community, BGCG offers private swim lessons for swimmers looking for individualized attention and instruction tailored to their needs.

Lessons can focus on water comfort and safety, learning to swim, stroke development, technique, endurance or other individual goals. With a variety of lesson options available, swimmers and families can choose the format that works best for them.

Private lessons are a great option for beginners as well as more experienced swimmers who want focused instruction to take their skills to the next level.

Parent & Me Aqua Adventures

Little swimmers start here!

Parent & Me Aqua Adventures introduces young children to the water in a fun, positive and supportive environment alongside a parent or caregiver.

Through guided activities, songs, games and age-appropriate instruction, children begin developing comfort, confidence and basic water-safety skills while enjoying special one-on-one time with their grown-up.

Our skilled, caring instructors make learning water safety fun while helping families establish a positive relationship with the water from the very beginning.

Barracudas Swim Team

The BGCG Barracudas competitive swim team, for swimmers ages 6 and up, is part of the Westchester/Fairfield Swim League.

Swimmers develop endurance, refine technique and strengthen their skills in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly while experiencing the teamwork, discipline and camaraderie of competitive swimming.

BGCG also offers the Junior Barracudas, designed for swimmers who are ready to build endurance and strengthen the foundational skills needed to progress toward competitive swimming.

Tryouts are required for the Barracudas and were held in September. Practice and meet participation requirements apply.
