Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich proudly welcomed more than 100 alumni back to the Rebecca S. Breed Clubhouse on Sunday, March 22, for the first-ever BGCG Alumni St. Patrick’s Day Big Green Party. It was an unforgettable celebration of connection, tradition, and Club pride.
Held on the same day as Greenwich’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Clubhouse was filled with energy as alumni spanning generations — from recent graduates as young as 19 to members in their 70s — came together to reconnect and reminisce. The event highlighted the lasting impact of the Club, bringing together individuals whose shared experiences at BGCG continue to shape their lives long after their time as members.
Guests gathered on the front terrace, enjoying festive specialty drinks, a food truck serving classic favorites, and the chance to win fun door prizes. More importantly, the afternoon offered plenty of time for alumni to swap stories, revisit memories, and celebrate the role the Club has played in their journeys.
For many, the event was a chance to reflect on the moments that made their time at the Club so meaningful. Mike Parelli shared that his favorite memories include his time at Camp Simmons and playing basketball. Bob Harris fondly remembered “flipping” baseball cards in the game room, while Keely Rodriguez reflected on participating in Torch and Keystone Clubs and making friends during after-school program time.
Laughter, storytelling, and a strong sense of community defined the event, as old friends reunited and new connections were formed across generations. Whether it had been a few years or several decades since their last visit, alumni were reminded that the Club remains a constant: a place where they will always belong.
The success of the Big Green Party marks the beginning of what promises to become a cherished tradition for the BGCG community. With such an enthusiastic turnout and overwhelming alumni spirit, the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich looks forward to building on this momentum and continuing to create meaningful opportunities for alumni to stay engaged and connected.
Here’s to many more years of celebrating the past, present, and future of Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich.
