There’s nothing like a friendly competition of dodgeball to bring people together. At BGCG’s 6th Annual Dodgeball Tournament in April, teams of police officers, firefighters, teachers, Club alumni and community members had the chance to relive their childhoods in a game of dodgeball for a good cause.
Money raised will support the Torch Club’s leadership programs and other charities as chosen by the Club. Every year, Torch Club members choose an organization to raise funds for. In years past, they raised money for the Hanna Storm Foundation, Abilis, K9s for Warriors, and Greenwich’s Parks and Recreation Department.
“It was a great day filled with a lot of laughter, smiles, and memories,” said event organizer Camryn Ferrara. “Not only did the community come out to cheer us on, but the Torch Club members learned valuable lessons in how to work together and help the community.”
The Torch Club is a chartered leadership group for middle school-aged youth. This National award-winning group elects officers and works together to plan and implement activities based on service to the Club and the Community, health and fitness, education, and social recreation.
