First Aid Provider for Summer Camp

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich is looking to hire a First Aider for our outdoor summer camp program at Camp Simmons. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, caring for all injured campers and documenting injuries in camp logbook, keeping first aid area clean and organized, overseeing all safety procedures and policies, communicating safety updates to parents and Camp Director as needed, and the safekeeping of confidential camper and staff information. Must enjoy working with children ages 6-12 in a fun outdoor environment. Reports to Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director.

Camp Dates: June 26 – August 18 (8 weeks)
Location: Camp Simmons, 744 Lake Avenue, Greenwich, CT
or
Location: Clubhouse Camp, 4 Horseneck Lane, Greenwich, CT
Work hours 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday
Pay: $17.00-$19.00 an hour
Age: Must be 21 years of age or older

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Caring for all injured or sick campers and keeping track of them in camp first aid book
  • Keeping first aid area clean and organized with supplies
  • Communicate with camp physician and parents when needed
  • Always remain in first aid area throughout the camp day
  • Create and maintain a safe, caring, and clean environment
  • Be first on the scene. Administer appropriate first aid and camp-approved medications while ensuring that all incidents are responded to, recorded, and reported appropriately throughout the camp day.
  • Through diligent reporting, management and organization, ensure that campers receive appropriate care under all circumstances.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have CPR and First Aid Certification and AED prior to the start of camp
  • Must be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination card required
  • Must be flexible to handle unexpected challenges
