AQUATICS

After-School Swim Lessons - Grade 1 Monday

Grade 1 | Monday, 4:30-5:00pm | Location: Pool | Limited to 15 participants

All BGCG members have the opportunity to have a 30-minute swim lesson once a week; choose only one day from the schedule. Every child will be evaluated on the first day of lessons and will be divided into groups according to his/her swimming ability. Lessons will vary from “learn to swim” to “stroke technique.” Members who miss more than two consecutive lessons will be removed from the swim lesson schedule.

Barracudas Swim Team Ages 6-10

Ages 6 & Up | Fee: $175

Registration is for try-outs (required): September 26, 3- 4:30pm & September 27, 5:30-7:00pm. Once try-outs are complete, those invited to join the team will be given registration and payment link.

Our competitive swim team is a part of the Westchester/Fairfield Swim League. The team will have Saturday swim meets for the 2022-2023 season. Swimmers who do not make the competitive team will have the option to be a part of the Junior Barracudas Swim Team.

Swimmers must attend 3 days of practice each week.

Prerequisites: Swimmers must have knowledge of all four competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.

Junior Barracudas Swim Team

All grades | Location: Pool | Fee: $100

This non-competitive team helps the swimmer build endurance and

refine strokes. Swimmers must attend 1 day of practice each week.

Prerequisites: Swimmers must be able to swim two laps of freestyle and backstroke and have knowledge of breaststroke.

Try-outs (required): September 26, 2-3pm & September 27, 4:30-5:30pm

Please note: The registration cost for our Evening Programs is included in annual membership. If you are not yet a member, you can apply for membership here.

BGCG will again offer various programs to our membership from October 3 - December 9.

Please note that registration is limited to 4 in-person classes per child.

You must pre-register each child who would like to attend our Evening Programs. No children will be allowed to attend if they are not pre-registered.

Greenwich United Way’s Reading Champions
Grades 1-5

**Mandatory Parent Meeting required prior to signing up on Wednesday, September 21 at 6:15pm

Sign up for one-on-one reading enrichment through our branch of Greenwich United Way’s Reading Champions program. Our reading specialists meet for 30 minutes once a week to improve fluency and reading comprehension. Space is limited. A portion of this program will utilize an online reading program.

October 17 - December 9

Power Hour
All Grades | Location: Learning Center

**Mandatory parent meeting on Wednesday, September 21 at 7:15pm**

Power Hour provides one-on-one, volunteer-based tutoring for members in need of academic support. Parents must sign a contract and supply the necessary forms and information needed for tutors to contact the school regarding their child’s academic progress. *Program continues throughout the year on a seasonal schedule.

Members in need of tutoring should contact our Education Coordinator to schedule tutoring sessions based on their needs.

Students who do not attend school on a given day due to sickness cannot attend BGCG’s Evening Programs.

 

If an offering reaches capacity, a waitlist sign-up will be added.
